1.13 petajoules of natural gas was consumed by Saskatchewan over a  24 hour period


It's official, the cold weather has broken another kind of record province wide Wednesday.

According to Sask Energy's Dave Burdeniuk, Saskatchewan has broken its natural gas consumption record over a 24 hour period. 1.13 petajoules of gas were consumed between 9am Tuesday and 9am Wednesday, beating the previous record of 1.12 petajoules, set back on January 27th 2004.


SaskEnergy says 1.13 petajoules is a enough natural gas to fill over 2.5 million barbecue sized propane tanks.
