Operation Crossroads nabbed 11 violators in the southwest.

The partnership by SGI and local traffic services was a two-day blitz on the 18th and 19th of January focused on traffic laws at intersections.

Swift Current Regional Traffic Services Sargeant Darryl Morgan isn't necessarily crediting local drivers with being safer than other parts of the province.

“I don't know if I'd say much more careful but It doesn't appear that we had near the problem in this part of the province as some of other ones do. A lot of the higher numbers a returned out of the larger cities in the province.”

Morgan says it's not just about ticketing drivers and pedestrians.

“It's more of an educational tool than anything”

He says law enforcement agencies and SGI will have a different traffic blitz every month in hopes of educating drivers across the province.
