As the Swift Current Broncos season winds down, Paterson Grain made their annual 'goal for charity' donation on Sunday afternoon to four local non-profit organization.

The Swift Current Salvation Army, Southwest Crisis Services, SaskAbilities, and the Center all received a cheque for $1,000.

Maurice Dureault, the regional manager for Paterson Grain, said the 'goal for charity' program sees them select two Broncos player per season and then they donate $50-100 per goal until they reach $4,000.

"We donate cash to the charity organizations and it comes through the Paterson Foundation," he said. "Which was developed by the former owner, the actual owner, Norman M. Paterson who set money aside for charities. He liked to donate to charities, he's been donating to charities since, well the company started in 1908."

Matthew Culling and Ben King were the pair of Broncos selected this year and they've combined for 16 goals in 110 games.

"It's usually $50 per goal, but this year we did $100 per goal," Dureault said.

Paterson Grain has donated $92,000 through their 'goal for charity' program during the last 23 years.
