An incident at the Fairview Arenas last night marred the celebrations for the local Midget Hurricanes club after a victory over Notre Dame.
"Our members were called to an altercation that occured after the hockey game," said RCMP Staff Sargeant Al MacDonell. "There was a couple of arrests made and the matter is still being investigated."
MacDonell doesn't expect a quick resolution.
"The investigation will take some time due to the fact that some of the witnesses don't live in Swift Current," MacDonell said. "They live in various parts of the province as well as Western Canada so the investigation will take some time to get wrapped up."
Several witness reports to the Swift Current Online newsroom state that the altercation occurred between Swift Current and Notre Dame supporters.
The Hurricanes beat the Argos 4-3 to win their best of three series.
