Shaunavon Town Council has taken a step forward in regards to the safety of the community's children and citizens.

Chief Administrative Officer with the Town of Shaunavon, Tara Fritz, says, "So, at the May 15th Regular Council Meeting discussion was had in regards to the concern of vehicles exceeding the posted speed limit of 25 kilometers an hour in the 24 hour reduced speed zones, which are located around town adjacent to the parks and schools in Shaunavon."

Town Council has purchased a portable speed sign and it has been erected on seventh avenue west adjacent to Jubilee Park.

The sign tells you the speed you are traveling and Council and local Police are hoping it will remind drivers to slow down.
