Students heading to SIAST this fall could be faced with a strike.

The Saskatchewan Government Employees Union, who represents instructors at the college, says both the professional services and academic bargaining units will walk the picket lines on Tuesday if there is no tentative agreement by then.

The union says staff at the institute are worth at least as much as university staff and teachers, adding that university educators have received over 14% in wage increases.

SGEU rejected SIAST's final offer of a 5.5% wage increase over three years.
