A new Primary Health Care site is serving the town of Ponteix.
Representatives from the Cypress Health Region and the town of Ponteix were on hand at the Ponteix Health Centre to cut the ribbon on the facility Friday afternoon. CEO Beth Vachon says there was great support from the community: "We had about 75 people join us for the celebrations... we are very pleased and excited to be opening our seventh Primary Health Care site in the Cypress Health Region".
Vachon says they've moved the town's physician to the Health Centre and expanded it to include the services of a Nurse Practitioner, and it also includes other services like lab and x-ray: "From this new Primary Health Care site, we will have our full team of healthcare providers working out of the same location."
The facility will be open weekdays from 8:00am to 4:00pm, and appointments for the physician or nurse practitioner can be made by calling 625-3382.
