The federal government's proposed tax changes are such a hot topic, Swift Current's Chamber of Commerce has had to move the Lunch 'n Learn location next Tuesday.

The event is not open to the general public but 125 people (including members of the Chamber and guests of MNP) have registered so far. Tax specialist Cindy Heinrichs of MNP is expected to present before a question-and-answer period.

The event is now at Walker Place instead of Houston Pizza, and Chamber CEO Karla Wiens said she's glad so many people are coming together.

"It's great the response that we have. This is a really hot topic, so we're very pleased the Chamber can partner with MNP and offer something like this."

Wiens also said they've had "an overwhelming response from self-employed folks in the community."

The Chamber is firmly against proposed changes to the federal tax code. The public consultation period lasts until October 2.
