The Saskatchewan Rate Review Panel announced plans to hold two public meetings as part of its review process on SaskPower’s application to increase the rate it charges its customers.

Meetings will be held in Regina on October 3 and in Saskatoon on October 16.

The 7 p.m. meetings will be streamed live on the Saskatchewan Rate Review Panel's Facebook page for members of the public who cannot attend.

Viewers will also be able to post questions and comments during the meetings and video recordings of the meetings will be available for viewing later.

SaskPower has proposed to increase rates by 5.1 per cent, with an implementation date of March 1, 2018.

The Panel is mandated to assess rate proposal on whether it is fair and reasonable, and offer its recommendations to the provincial government by January 11, 2018.
