Children's Camp International (CCI) is providing the opportunity to win a 1966 4x4 truck customized by WelderUp located in Las Vegas.

The occasion is part of a raffle to raise money, in order to help send children to camp all around the world.

Standard Motors in Swift Current will be hosting the truck throughout the day until the raffle closes at midnight tonight. All proceeds from the raffle go towards CCI.

Children Camp International is a nonprofit organization, working vigorously to better the lives of children in developing nations.

They aim to achieve this goal by building strong relationships, sharing hope and training leaders through the experience of camp.

Last year alone, CCI sent over half a million kids to camp.

CCI currently has three locations in Cambodia, India and Brazil.

Children's Camp International media coordinator, Shannon Arends explains the truck’s journey from the States all the way to Saskatchewan.

“There is a cool show called ‘Make it Run Again’ from a gentleman named Steve Darnell from Las Vegas,” she said.

“And he does a show on Instagram and he picks up vehicles and he make them run again, and during that time he puts the vehicles up for auction. So, the orange truck went up for auction or the 66 Chev and a wonderful gentleman named Brady Funk who lives in Swift Current won the bid for the truck, and then he donated the truck to our organization, Children Camp International.”

As Arends was in the process of contacting Chevy dealerships, to inquire about displaying the truck, Standard Motors was happy to oblige.

“This is their second time to actually have it there,” she explained. “They had it there right at the beginning of our tour, because we did a tour from Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba with the truck. We started with standard motors and finished with standard motors.”

People will be able to scan their QR codes and purchase tickets at the dealership as well.

Tickets are priced at $30 for 30 tickets, $50 for 50 tickets, $125 for 125 tickets or $250 for 300 tickets.

The winner of the raffle will be announced on September 25, at Standard Motors.
