With every summer long weekend, the RCMP are out in a greater number reminding everyone to be safe.

We spoke with Cst Meagan Stringfewllow of the Swift Current Rural Detachment of the RCMP.  She says an increase in activities in the summer means the possibility of an increase in incidents.  "There's more sports days and rodeos going, and of course out at the lakes and campgrounds.  We're out there, and we just hope everyone is obeying the law," commented Stringfellow.

She says they will be out and about.  "We will be out looking for impaired drivers, and making sure there is no open liquor in vehicles.  As well, we want to let people know, if there is anything going on that maybe we aren't aware of, they can call us and we can increase patrols in that area to assure everyone's safety."
