May 20th to 26th is National Public Works Week.

This year's theme is "The Power of Public Works" and it highlights the enormous and beneficial impact that Public Works has on our modern civilization.

The Town of Shaunavon is recognizing the week and urges all residents to recognize the contributions that these workers make to the community.

Shaunavon Mayor, Grant Greenslade, says "It's important to take note of our town employees that work on behalf of the Public Works Department and all they do to help the community, whether it's snow removal, sewer replacement or looking after our parks. We wanted to extend a recognition to the hard work that these guys do for us."

This is the 58th  year that Public Works officials in Canada have raised awareness of their work and their commitment to their profession.
