A long-time RCMP member from Rosetown has been charged with assault.

Mounties were called to a home in the community on the night of November 5th after receiving a complaint of an assault at the home.

Following an investigation, Corporal Ron Robinson of the Rosetown RCMP Detachment was formally charged on Wednesday with an assault on his wife, and has been released from custody on conditions to not attend to his home or contact his wife, except through a member of the law society.

Robinson has had 10 years of service with the RCMP and will be performing administrative duties as the court proceedings and an internal investigation continue.

He's scheduled to appear in a Rosetown Courtroom on November 22nd.
