RCMP are investigating a number of thefts and break and enters, both in Swift Current and the surrounding area.

The Rural Detachment is reporting two incidents of fuel theft in the Stewart Valley and McMahon areas, where diesel fuel was stolen from graders, payloaders and fuel tanks that were either left unattended or had their locks broken.

"At the one grader, there were 200 litres of diesel fuel stolen, with an approximate vaule of $250.00, and at the other one, it was reported that 400 gallons of fuel was stolen from a fuel tank," said Constable Ron Clark. "It happens annually when equipment has been left unattended at this time of year when there's a lot of equipment on the highway and fuel tanks that have been filled up because of the busy farm season."

He suggests keeping your equipment locked up and installing security cameras on your property if possible, and adds they would appreciate any help from anyone who noticed suspicious activity.

Meanwhile, City RCMP are reporting more thefts, this time several incidents over the weekend where vehicles were entered and items were stolen. They are urging drivers to keep their doors locked and any valuables out of sight, and are asking those with any information to call the detachment or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
