Whether you're enjoying the outdoors, or concerned about your wellbeing, health officials want you to know help is just a call away.

In the summertime, residents deal with things like bug bites, rashes or sunburns and sometimes they seem out of the ordinary or people are not sure if they should be consulting with a physician. The Saskatchewan Health Authority is reminding residents that if they dial 811 they'll be connected with specially trained registered nurses, registered psychiatric nurses and registered social workers in an instant.

Other benefits of HealthLine 811 are there are over 100 language options, it's confidential and free, and there's no bad time to pick up the phone as it's open 24/7.

Each summer roughly 10,000 phone calls are made to the medical professionals on the other side of the HealthLine from across Saskatchewan.

Callers may also ask the staff answering phones questions about their health, mental health or addictions.

However, if you or someone you see is experiencing a serious issue, dial 911 in the case of an emergency.
