A fresh new look for the Saskatchewan Abilities Council was revealed Thursday morning throughout the province.

After 67 years the non-profit organization changed their name to SaskAbilities, while also creating a more modern logo.

Regional Director for SaskAbilities Kimi Duzan said the organization was looking for a refreshed appearance.

"It represents the people of Saskatchewan, the people that we serve, and our focus which is on abilities," she said. "I think that's what we've become well known for and we see that as our future going forward."

The announcement was made during a live video presentation to staff members, supporters, and board members across the province.

"The icing on the cake was going out to our parking lot (at the Swift Current Branch). We had a new sign installed and it was covered," Duzan said. "The covering was pulled off and the cheers went up. People were connected and celebrating community. The City of Swift Current gets it, they get that there is a place for everyone, there is a place for everybody with all abilities."

Duzan said the decision was made by the provincial board of directors who listened to strong input and suggestions from the public and staff members.
