Quality of water is very indicative of quality of life, and last week each province was graded on water protection strategies.

Released every five years, the waterproof report shows how each jurisdiction has performed over time on critical measures like treatment and testing requirements, drinking water standards, source water protection and accountability.

Saskatchewan received a "B-minus" in this year's report, the same grade the province received in the last report done in 2006.

Randy Christensen is the author of the Waterproof reports. He says our province does have solid treatment and testing standards, and is at the forefront of protecting public interest, but says there's always room for improvement.

Meanwhile, federally it was another "F" for the second time in five years. Christensen says there's been no progress made on the legislative front and there's been little improvement in the quality of water for First nations.
