Sasktel has announced they have been granted an extension to operate its Wireless Broadband Internet service.

Following a release earlier this week about the company shutting down its network by the end of the year, about 8000 customers were getting ready to feel the repercussions.

People will still need to eventually adjust their services, but they'll have a little more time to figure things out.

"It doesn't change the fact that there will need to be a transition, that people will need to change over to a different form of Internet through Sasktel," said Don McMorris, the Minister Responsible for Sasktel. "What it does do is allows Sasktel to be more involved with the customers to make sure their questions are answered and we are supplying the best possible service we can."

McMorris added Sasktel customers will now have until March 2014 to switch their services, and Sasktel will be very interactive with their customers to make sure they make the right choice when it comes to their Internet services.
