Both pre and post secondary institutions in our region gave approval to yesterday's provincial budget. Acting Director of the Chinook School Division Kyle McIntyre said, “It maintains some of the areas we would see as priorities and I don't think the students or our staff in Chinook are going to be disadvantaged at all.” McIntyre was happy with support for the roofing project at Leader Composite School and the new integrated facility.

Interim President and CEO of Great Plains College Bruce Probert said even with some tuition hikes it was a stay the course budget for them, “I would say any tuition increases will be very modest.” And Probert adds the new Saskatchewan Advantage Scholarship offsets that with $500 a year, up to $2000, for any new high school graduate attending post-secondary education in the province.
