Saskatchewan schools will be getting an immediate $7.5 million from the provincial government, which the new premier, Scott Moe, says will put essential classroom supports in place before investing the full $30 million promised in the 2018-19 budget.

According to the Saskatchewan Party, $383,000 of that $7.5 million will go toward Chinook School Division and Holy Trinity Catholic School Division - both divisions in the Swift Current area.

The March, 2017 budget saw $55 million in cuts to education.

More to come.
