The extremely hot weather is putting a damper on open campfires this weekend at the pair of provincial parks located in the southwest.

The Ministry of Parks, Culture, and Sport placed the ban this morning on seven parks in Saskatchewan including Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park and Saskatchewan Landing Provincial Park.

Self-contained barbeques, fire pits, stoves and heating devices will be permitted at the discretion of each of the parks.
