It’s been a topic of concern for many years. SGI Communications consultant Marie Schultz is reminding motorists to not be an impaired driver. She says, “Plan a ride home before you head out and please don’t drink and drive”.

In the 2015 M.A.D.D.’s Provincial Impaired Driving Report, Saskatchewan rated a 52% or a D- by their rating system. Efforts this week to improve the numbers have been implemented by SGI’s advertising campaign showing what happens during Impairment due to Alcohol or Illegal Drugs, Distracted Driving, Speeding, Seat Belts and Child Restraints, and Fatigue.

Schultz also reminds us that Impairment is not limited to Alcohol. It can also take the form of illegal drugs as well as prescription medication. She reminds us, “to read the little labels that say do not mix with alcohol”

RCMP will be vigilant this weekend looking for impaired drivers.

SGI is looking for a clean weekend as Impaired Driving can be eliminated if we just take time to drive safe and keep everyone safe.
