The Shaunavon Chamber of Commerce has announced that the 2018 Shaunavon Citizen of the year is Dianne Greenlay.

Dianne and her husband Mike have lived, worked and raised their family in Shaunavon and Dianne owns and operates her own Physical Therapy business. She is also a retired EMT.

Greenlay is truly honored to received this acknowledgement. "I'm kind of over-whelmed because this volunteering for a community is something that I've done ever since I moved to Shaunavon, and I know there's lots of people in town who make things happen here in town. And so, I'm a little surprised to be singled out for this honor, but I'm very excited about this."

Dianne is a founding member of Darkhorse Theatre, as well as the founder of the Stayin' Alive Not Expired Choir for singers age 55-92.

She has written and published three books of historical fiction and a play that helped raised money for the local Elks Hall roof replacement. This play has also been chosen to be performed at the BC Fringe Festival in Vancouver in September.

She shares her writing experience and advice  with a writers group in Swift Current and has been a board member for Creative Kids, Reel Wednesday and the Shaunavon Arts Council.

Dianne loves music and occasionally performs with the band Highway 13. She paints and draws, and is a champion of all people and animals who are in need.

Dianne Greenlay will be honored at The Citizen of the Year Gala Banquet coming up on Saturday May 26th.
