The Shaunavon CIBC branch will be closing its doors for good in the fall.

In a prepared statement from CIBC Senior Manager, Stakeholder Communications, Jon Kastikainen says "As more Canadians are choosing to do their banking outside of traditional banking centres, we've needed to make some adjustments to our network, which includes a small number of rural and urban banking centre closures. Recently we made the difficult decision to close our Shaunavon Banking Centre and consolidate it with our Swift Current Banking Centre. The Shaunavon Banking Centre will be closing on Thursday November 22, 2018 at 4:00 P.M. We will be automatically transferring client accounts to our Swift Current Banking Centre and will ensure that there is no disruption in service. The decision to close any of our banking centres is not taken lightly and we carefully consider all options before making this decision. Currently about 80 per cent of our client transactions take place outside of a banking centre and through more convenient digital options which our clients have come to use as their preferred way to bank. While many clients in Shaunavon are already banking online, by phone or using a mobile device, our teams at both locations are available to show clients these convenient options for their everyday banking. We have four employees at our Shaunavon Banking Centre and will be working with them on options available with CIBC."
