A 2017 graduate of the Shaunavon High School will be furthering his education at the University of Regina with the help of a special scholarship.

Luke Anderson is the son of Wade and Jeanne Anderson of Shaunavon. He says, "The Circle of Scholars Scholarship is an entrance scholarship from the U of R which is awarded by the university to the top academic applicant from each of the ten regions in Canada. It is valued at $20,000 - $5,000 in the first year and renewable for three more years as long as I maintain an 80% average."

Luke heads off to classes starting September 6th, and says the scholarship will pay his tuition for the first semester and most the second.

Luke will be taking a Secondary Education course at the U of R which will enable him to teach high school math and physics.
