2010 was a great year in Shaunavon, and big things are happening in that community in 2011.

Mayor Sharon Dickie says that looking back over the past year, the town achieved many of the goal they had set out to do. One of the major ones was doctor recruitment:

Dickie adds that the town also saw a large amount of building permits, which valued over $10 million, which she says is a very significan amount for a community of that size. She says they have also been develping a new residential subdivision which will see 11 lots serviced in the spring.

Dickie also says a lot of progress was made on the new Crescent Point Wickenheiser Centre, and is very proud to say that the facility will be completed around February or March. The grand opening will be held July 15 and 16, 2011.

Dickie adds that plans are also underway for the town's centennial celebrations in 2013.
