Health care has been a hot topic of conversation in Shaunavon and area recently.

With recent closures of the Shaunavon Hospital due to a shortage of registered nurses, and the loss of one of the town's two doctors in mid-April, members of Town Council are meeting with the Cypress Health Region today to come up with some answers.

Shaunavon Town Administrator-in-training, Jay Meyer said, “We're meeting with the health region to talk about steps moving forward. I want to let the town know we are working our hardest we are doing our do diligence we're spending more energy than I feel we can on a matter that is kinda of out of our control”

The Cypress Health Region has hired two nurses to fill the vacancies at the Hospital. One will arrive from Calgary mid-April and must first complete a training period.
