Recently the Board of the Shaunavon Courtesy Van Association honored the men and women of Shaunavon who volunteer to drive the Courtesy Car in that community.

Rick Nicolson is the President of The Shaunavon and District Community Services Society. He says, "It's something we hold every year. Our drivers are volunteers, so just for our appreciation we put on a free dinner for them."

The drivers, their spouses and sponsors were all at the free dinner, a total of about 45 people,

Nicholson says  the Courtesy Van has been in operation in Shaunavon since 1977, and receives, on average, a total of over forty calls a day.

The meal was prepared by The Southwest Chronic Disease Support Group and Nicholson adds that they will be making a donation to the group for their help in the near future.
