More snow landed in the Shaunavon area over the past weekend, and, though warmer temperatures are forecast for the rest of the week, it's safe to say there's already been a fair share of winter weather.

Shaunavon Town Crews were busy this past Friday clearing streets and Director of Operations for the Town of Shaunavon, Ron Phillips, says there is a certain system that they follow for snow removal. "Well, after a heavy snowfall first priority is always gonna be the ambulance route and the airport, so if there's any kind of medical emergency they can get in and out. After that, then we focus on the downtown, which we try to have pushed up early in the day, so before traffic gets too heavy."

Phillips says that, after a heavy snowfall, signs are posted the night before where snow removal will be done and residents are asked to have their vehicles moved, or face the possibility of being towed. For regular snow removal no signs are posted.

Residents and business owners are responsible for clearing their own sidewalks and snow should not be shovelled into the street.

The exception to that is business owners who have no other option but to shovel into the street.
