The Prairie Women on Snowmobiles group was formed when two friends, one a breast cancer survivor, decided to snowmobile across Saskatchewan to raise funds for The Canadian Cancer Society.

Kelly Rae is the President of the Prairie Women on Snowmobiles. She says, "Prairie Women on Snowmobiles is an organization that started in 2001 with our first mission. And what we do is, we ride our snowmobiles around the province with ten core riders each year, raising awareness and funds for the early detection of breast cancer and safe snowmobiling."

Rae says that over the past eighteen years the group has raised over 2.5 million dollars for breast cancer research and over the past five years have raised $303,000 for the purchase of equipment.

The group will be making a stop on Wednesday February 6 at ten a.m. at the Community Hall Meeting Room in Gull Lake where donations for cancer will be accepted.

They will arrive at The Eagles Lodge in Swift Current at noon on Wednesday, and then continue to Kyle and finish the day off in Rosetown.
