March's labour force statistics were released by Stats Canada recently and once again they shine favorably on the southwest corner of the province.

A low unemployment rate continues to be the case for the Swift Current - Moose Jaw region, which came in at the second lowest in Canada.

The region sits at 3.3%, down from March of 2016, when the rate sat at 4.6%, also ranked second in the country at the time.

Also compared with March of 2016 is the population of the region, as well as the labour force.

The region and labour force both saw a population decrease of 600 for 2017.
