The community of Eastend has been getting some national and international attention of late.

Just last year,CTV's national morning show "The Social" featured Eastend in their "Canadian Hot Spots You Should Probably Consider Visiting". Three communities in Saskatchewan were selected by Heather Greenwood-Davis of National Geographic Traveler magazine, including Eastend, Saskatoon and Lake Diefenbaker.

And this year, MSN.com travel listed Eastend as one of twenty "Up and Coming Destinations Every Canadian Needs on Their Radar in 2018". The southwest community is listed alongside established tourist destinations in Europe, Asia, and Latin America.

Rosa Vazquez is the Tourism and Economic Development Officer for the Town of Eastend. She say's there's a number of reasons she feels their community was chosen. "It's definitely a combination of all the aspects, you know, the Tourism Campaign, the beauty of our town, everything that we can offer, events. We're a very friendly town."

Vazquez adds that another big plus for the community is their volunteers who work closely with the Town to support events that draw tourists.
