Residents of the southwest are enjoying unseasonably, nearly record setting heat this week, with more expected to come this weekend.

But the Cypress Health Region's Medical Health Officer, Dr. David Torr says anyone taking advantage of the heat has to be careful to stay hydrated.

Dr. Torr warns that while most fluids are effective, but anything with alcohol would make dehydration worse.

Some symptoms of trouble are weakness, nausea, headaches, light headedness and eventually muscle cramps. Medical attention may be required in more severe cases.
