The Saskatchewan Transportation Company says it wants to keep fares reasonable, but it needs to generate more revenue.
Passenger fares went up yesterday by about $1.45 cents based on an average one way trip of 188 kilometres.
That's an average increase of 4.76 %.
STC spokeswoman Deanna Bergbusch said the company hasn't had a fare increase since 2010 and was below the western Canadian average.
