The Saskatchewan Party is reaffirming their support for Bill C-391, a private member's bill in the House of Commons that is seeking to abolish the long-gun registry.

A motion was tabled in the Legislature yesterday by Saskatoon-Sutherland MLA Joceline Schriemer calling on all MPs to support the Bill.

Schriemer says their Party has always opposed the gun registry.  "We believe the registry unfairly penalizes law-abiding firearms owners, is way too expensive, and does nothing to reduce crime," said Schriemer.

Justice Minister Don Morgan also sent a letter in support of the Bill, part of which was read in the House of Commons this week.
