Hundreds of Saskatchewan sport hunters and anglers are having their say on the province's hunting and angling regulations.

The government released a survey which collects views from hunters and anglers across the province, and Jeremy Harrison, Minister of Enterprise, says so far, they've had an overwhelming response of over 1,600.

"Because of that, we're extending the period in which people can provide feedback until May 23," explains Harrison. "We encourage all of those hunters and anglers out there that might have suggestions on how to improve the hunting and fishing experience here in Saskatchewan to provide their feedback at the Enterprise Saskatchewan website."

Harrison says the survey is part of the Government's Red Tape Reduction Initiative.

"We're looking for ways to cut red tape and make things more efficient, effective and user friendly," says Harrison. "Right now, we're looking at the hunting and fishing regulations. Nobody knows better how these regulations impact on the ground than those who are out there hunting and fishing on a regular basis."

The feedback received through the survey will be passed to officials with the Ministry of Environment for analysis, which will then be considered by the Saskatchewan Government's Red Tape Reduction Committee.
