The court case involving a man who broke into the Swift Current Shrine Club this past weekend has come to a close.

55-year-old Bruce Bowers was denied bail this afternoon in Swift Current Provincial Court, before entering guilty pleas on 3 charges.

Bowers, who has no known address, was sentenced to a 90-day jail term plus remanded time served and ordered to pay $857 in restitution.

He entered a guilty plea on one count of Break and Enter; in which he broke into the Swift Current Shrine Club on March 26th and stole approximately $700 worth of alcohol. For this charge, he was sentenced to 90-days in jail and ordered to pay the Swift Current Shrine Club $700.

Bowers also entered a guilty plea on one count of Possession of Stolen Property from November 25, 2016, where he stole a cell phone from Palliser Overhead Doors Ltd. on October 20. He was sentenced to 30-days to be served concurrent with the Break and Enter charge and ordered to pay $157 to the company.

Bowers' last guilty plea entered was one count of Failing to Appear in Court on February 6, 2017. His remanded time was used for time served.
