The Swift Current Ag and Ex held their Annual General Meeting last night, where the association looked back on a successful year.

Outgoing President Bryce Burnett says they've made great strides over the last three years, but adds it's not just himself who's responsible for the success.

“We've got a real good board of directors that all have focused on some goals and put our minds to work and our mananger, Tracy, she's just right in there pushing with us so yeah, we've done well in the last three years.”

Wade Jensen has taken over as President of the Association.

He says one of their priorities is a five-year strategic plan for the Ag and Ex.

“Well I think with the phenomenal partnership we've had with the city over the last three years that it gives us the opprtunity, with community support, to do a long term plan and to hopefully plan for the future to bring in additional events on top of building on our current events.”

Jensen adds they will look at enhancing their livestock events and entertainment value for guests as part of their long-term plan.

The Ag and Ex brought in revenues totalling more than 500-thousand dollars from their events last year, which included Frontier Days, the Step into Spring Home and Leisure Trade Show, and the R-C-M-P Musical Ride and turned a profit of 156-thousand dollars in 2011.
