The 8th Annual Go Green Friday is in the books, but not before reaching historic heights within Swift Current.

With over 160 volunteers and 11 project sites, Stark and Marsh, along with Innovation Credit Union, were pleased to share their results.

"We were able to plant 900 trees and shrubs total in 11 different project sites throughout the city of Swift Current," said Ashley Belon, with the Marketing and Human Resources at Stark and Marsh.

Trying to improve the community's carbon footprint, the event worked along Chaplin St East south of the Credit Union iPlex, the Mayor's Grove Planter located along the Chinook Pathway, Riverdene Island located at the top of Riverdene Park on the corner of North Hill Drive and 13th Ave NE, a new plant garden was created along North Hill Drive referred to as "Ying Yang" because of its shape and the Northwest corner of HWY 1 and 11th Ave.

Go Green just completed it's 8th year within Swift Current and has now resulted in over 2200 trees and shrubs been planted.

Dorie's House was also a beneficiary of the day, as a noon hour barbeque raised $1,106.25, which will all be located to the new Southwest Youth Emergency Shelter.
