The 37th Annual Terry Fox Run was held on Sunday across the country.

Swift Current's run was along the Chinook Pathway and featured both a five-kilometre run and a ten-kilometre run.

Sonia Brooks, public relations for the Terry Fox Run in Swift Current said that this year was a record year for money raised.

"It was more than double than what we raised last year. Some years we've raised $1,000, some years it has been $2,000 but this year was definitely a big increase which we are really happy to see."

Brooks added that they were happy with the number of people that came out and were also happy to see that mother nature cooperated with them and gave them some nice weather for the run.

Thirty-six people participated raising a total of $5,254 dollars for the Terry Fox Foundation.

Since $0.84 from every dollar goes toward cancer research, $4,413.36 of that money will directly to cancer research.
