Swift Nightmares

A local film production premieres Halloween night in another fundraiser for the Swift Current SPCA.

After the success of Zombageddon last year, Dead Prairies Productions got together again to create Swift Nightmares.

"It's basically like Tales from the Crypt," said director and producer Devon Oman. "We had three different stories; a vampire movie (Shadowing) directed and written by Reuben Parker, I wrote the clown one which is called No Laughing Matter and Wendy (Lockman) wrote a movie called 'Til Death and they're all different styles."

The anthology features a cast of over fourteen locals including The Eagle 94.1 FM's Sean Finnell in a feature role.

Many of the cast and crew involved were also a part of Zombageddon last year.

"It actually was a lot easier this time around," Oman said. "We learned from our mistakes from Zombageddon and we kept building our group so it was a lot easier and smooth."

The small original project started between three friends evolved into something large in scope than they had anticipated.

"Just became something bigger than I imagined," Oman said. "We raised $4000 for the SPCA with Zombageddon."

That film is still on sale on DVD and continues to raise money for a cause that is close to Oman's heart.

"Personally I love animals and I have three rescue dogs myself," he noted. "I strongly believe they deserve another chance and they can't really have a voice."

Doors open at 7:00 pm and showtime is 8:00pm at the Living Sky Casino Sky Centre. You can pick up your tickets for $10 at Pharmasave or at the door.
