After going without a contract since August 2010, the province and the Saskatchewan Teachers Federation have officially ratified a new deal.

It took awhile for both sides to find common ground, but after reaching a tentative agreement prior to the school year starting, a new collective bargaining agreement has been reached between the teachers and the province.

The deal, which includes salary increases and other recommendations based on a special mediator's report from back in July, was passed in a vote by 66% of teachers.

The CBA will be officially signed next week by both parties and will be valid to 2013.
