Telemiracle36

Saskatchewan will be ringing those phones all weekend for Telemiracle 36.

The annual 20-hour telethon has been a tradition in our province since 1977 to help raise money for people with special needs.

Sesame Street's Bob McGrath will return to Telemiracle for the 35th time, and said in a recent interview that it's one of the most inspiring weekends for him to take part in every year.

"Just to see the generosity of everyone in this province and also the kids, it's inspiring the courage of the kids we are helping. And it's also inspiring to see what little children will do to help raise this money for others," he says.

Joining Bob will be long-time cast members including Brad Johner, Beverly Mahood and Donny Parenteau, some newcomers like Honeymoon Suite and Codie Prevost, and nearly 50 performers from communities all over Saskatchewan.

And there will bea strong local contingent at this year's show as well as the Swift Current Kinsmen and Kinettes will make a presentation between 10:30 pm and 11:00pm Saturday night. Then the Central School Choir will perform and also make a presentation on Sunday morning at around 10:30am.

Telemiracle 36 starts at 9:00 pm Saturday night and runs to 5:00 pm on Sunday from Regina's Conexus Arts Centre.
