Emergency outpatient services won't be available for most of the week in Herbert.

Physician unavailability means the temporary disruption to the Herbert Emergency Department will start at 5 p.m. today and last until Friday at 7 p.m.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority advises residents to call 9-1-1 if there is an emergency, and an ambulance will be dispatched immediately.

The Health Authority also said in a release that non-urgent health-related questions can be directed to the provincial HealthLine by calling 8-1-1 (that's an '8' - not a '9').

Swift Current's Cypress Regional Hospital is the closest emergency department to Herbert.
