In the December 1 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 81 new confirmed cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 81 new cases, there is 1 in the Far North West zone, 3 in the Far North East zone, 6 in the North West zone, 9 in the North Central zone, 6 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central West zone, 8 in the Central East zone, 8 in the Regina zone, 2 in the South Central zone, and 31 in the South East zone.

There are 3 new confirmed cases in the South West zone - 1 in the South West subzone 1, and 2 in the South West subzone 2.

There are 3 new cases with pending residence information.

One case with pending residence information has been added to the case count of the North Central zone.

One Saskatchewan resident tested out of the province has been added to the case count of the Central East zone.

More than one-quarter (27.2%) of new cases are in the 5 to 11 age category.

Almost one-third (31.2%) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 12 years and over) were fully vaccinated.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 72 (6.0 new cases per 100,000 population).

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 81,074, of which 735 are considered active.

There are 18 active cases in the South West zone - 6 in the South West subzone 1, and 12 in the South West subzone 2.

There is 1 new death reported today, bringing the provincial total number of deaths to 927.

There are 61 recoveries reported, 2 of those in the South West zone, bringing the provincial total number of recoveries to 79,412.

There are 133 people in the hospital - 98 receiving inpatient care, and 35 in intensive care.

Of those 133 patients, 90 (67.7%) were not fully vaccinated.

There are 4 Saskatchewan residents receiving out of the province care in hospital.

To date, 1,279,706 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, there were 2,008 COVID-19 tests processed in the province.

Of the 16,166 variants of concern cases identified by whole genome sequencing in the province, 7,123 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 10 are Beta (B.1.351), 484 are Gamma (P.1), and 8,549 are Delta (B.1.617.2).

There were 5,430 COVID-19 vaccinations administered yesterday, 162 of those in the South West zone.

That brings the provincial total number of vaccinations given to 1,744,634.

There are now 836,064 Saskatchewan residents who are fully vaccinated.
