The Shaunavon Co Op invites residents of Shaunavon and area to be a part of the  second annual Food Bank Challenge.

The local Co Op is competing against the Southland Co Op in Assiniboia to see who can collect the most for their local Food Banks.

Both General Managers have agreed that the loser will wear the jersey of the winner's favorite football team.

Collection bins are set up at the Shaunavon Marketplace Food Store and the Food Store, the Home and Agro, and the Gas Bar/Convenience Store are selling pre-packaged food bags that customers can purchase for ten or twenty dollars to donate, then receive a grocery coupon for 10% of the value of their purchase.

General Manager of the Shaunavon Co Op Kevin Braun, says, "There's families that are in need in the area and there's really no loser when we take on a challenge like this. We're very happy to be able to support our local Food Bank. Definitely people and families that can use the Food Bank and which we know that's a big  priority for us at the Co Op."

Also, with every "like" on the Co Op's Facebook page they will donate $2.00 worth of food to the Campaign.

The Food Bank Challenge is on now and goes until September 16th.
