Due  to poor weather conditions, The Terry Fox Run in Gull Lake scheduled for last week had to be cancelled this year.

However, that didn't stop the local school from doing their part to raise money for cancer research.

The students who collected $50.00 got one opportunity to throw a bean bag at a target and break a water balloon over the Principal or Vice-Principal's head. If they raised $100.00 they got three chances and each student from the class that collected the most money got one chance to throw at the teacher of their choice.

Adele Kirwan is the Principal at The Gull Lake School. She said the support they received from everyone in the community was wonderful and the kids had a great time.

"I just think, like just, the community continues to amaze us in the support that they have for all of our school functions, and then specifically for Terry Fox." she said.

The School, along with money collected by The Gull Lake Daycare from their bottle drive, raised $7,149.00.
