In the January 19 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 1,223 new confirmed cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 1,223 new cases there are 15 in the Far North West zone, 6 in the Far North Central zone, 12 in the Far North East zone, 45 in the North West zone, 66 in the North Central zone, 37 in the North East zone, 307 in the Saskatoon zone, 11 in the Central West zone, 62 in the Central East zone, 304 in the Regina zone, 76 in the South Central zone, and 89 in the South East zone.

There are 38 new confirmed cases in the South West zone - 8 in South West subzone 1, and 30 in South West subzone 2.

There are 155 new cases with pending residence information.

Thirty-seven Saskatchewan residents tested out of the province prior to January 18 were added as follows - 3 to the Far North West zone, 1 to the Far North East zone, 4 to the North West zone, 2 to the North Central zone, 11 to the Saskatoon zone, 1 to the Central East zone, 9 to the Regina zone, 1 to the South West zone, 2 to the South Central zone, and 2 to the South East zone.

There is 1 pending residence location.

Almost two-fifths (37.0%) of new cases are in the 20 to 39 age category.

The seven-day average of new COVID -19 case numbers is 1,240 (102.9 new cases per 100,000 population).

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 103,901, of which 11,894 are considered active.

There are 352 active cases in the South West zone - 50 in South West subzone1, and 302 in South West subzone 2.

There were no new deaths reported, leaving the provincial total number of deaths at 961.

There are 1,147 recoveries, 55 of which are in the South West zone, bringing the provincial total number of recoveries to 91,046.

There are 199 people in the hospital - 178 receiving inpatient care, and 21 in intensive care.

Of the 178  inpatients, 90 are a COVID-19 related illness, 71 are incidental COVID infections and 17 have not yet been determined.

Of the 21 ICU patients, 15 are for COVID-19 related illnesses, 5 have incidental COVID-19 infections, and 1 is undetermined.

Of the 19.601 variants of concern cases in the province identified by whole genome sequencing, 7,123 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 10 are Beta (B.1.351), 484 are Gamma (P.1), 10,123 are Delta (B.1.617.2), and 1,861 are Omicron (B.1.1.529).

To date, there have been 1,393,234 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan.

And  yesterday, there were 3,911 COVID -19 tests processed in the province.

There were 1,794 COVID-19 vaccinations given yesterday, 36 of those in the South West zone.

That brings the provincial total number of vaccinations administered to 1,835,954.

And there are now 880,174 Saskatchewan residents who are fully vaccinated.
