In the January 25 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 1,049 new confirmed cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 1,049 new cases there are 18 in the Far North West zone, 15 in the Far North East zone, 65 in the North West zone, 98 in the North Central zone, 24 in the North East zone, 369 in the Saskatoon zone, 5 in the Central West zone, 68 in the Central East zone, 162 in the Regina zone, 30 in the South Central zone, and 26 in the South East zone.

There are 21 new confirmed cases in the South West zone - 2 in South West subzone 1, and 19 in South West subzone 2.

There are 148 new cases with pending residence information.

Of the 1,049 new cases reported today, 170 were unvaccinated or fewer than 21 days after their first dose, 43 had received their first dose or were less than 21 days from their second dose, 577 were fully vaccinated (more then 14 days since their second dose), and 259 were fully vaccinated and more than 14 days from receiving their booster dose.

Sixty-four cases with pending residence information have been assigned as follows - 3 to the Far North West zone, 25 to the North West zone, 5 to the North Central zone, 2 to the North East zone, 13 to the Saskatoon zone ,1 to the Central West zone, 3 to the Central East zone, 7 to the Regina zone, 1 to the South West zone, and 4 to the South East zone.

One case was removed from the North West zone.

Almost two-fifths (37.8%) of new cases are in the 20 to 39 age category.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers is 1,247 (103.5 new cases per 100,000 population).

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 111,447, of which 12,652 are considered active.

There are 371 active cases in the South West zone - 59 in South West subzone 1, and 312 in South West subzone 2.

There are 1,147 recoveries reported, 56 of those in the South West zone, bringing the provincial total number of recoveries to 97,818.

There are 2 new deaths reported, 1 of them in the South West zone, bringing the provincial total number of deaths to 977.

There are 291 people in the hospital - 258 receiving inpatient care, and 33 in intensive care.

Of the 291 patients, 108 (37.1%) were not fully vaccinated.

Of the 258 inpatient hospitalizations, 112 are for a COVID-19 related illness, 120 are incidental COVID infections, and 26 have not yet been determined.

Of the 33 patients in intensive care, 22 are for COVID-19 related illnesses, 5 are for incidental COVID infections, and 3 are undetermined.

Three residents are in PICU/NICU, all 3 are for COVID-19 related illnesses.

Of the 20,242 variants of concern cases identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 7,123 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 10 are Beta (B.1.351), 484 are Gamma (P.1), 10,135 are Delta (B.1.617.2), and 2,490 are Omicron (B.1.1.529).

To date, there have been 1,417,946 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, there were 3,184 COVID-19 tests processed in the province.

There were 1,368 COVID-19 vaccines administered, 14 of those in the South West zone.

That brings the provincial total number of vaccinations given to 1,848,289.

And there are now 888,371 Saskatchewan residents who are fully vaccinated.
