In the July 26 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting 43 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 43 new cases there are 12 in the Far North West zone, 1 in the Far North Central zone, 20 in the Far North East zone, 1 in the North Central zone, 5 in the Saskatoon zone, and 1 in the South Central zone.

There is 1 new case reported in the South West zone - that is in the South West subzone 1.

There are 2 new cases with pending residence information.

One case tested out of the province has been added to the Saskatoon zone.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 49,727, of which 356 are considered active.

There are 5 active cases in t he South West zone- 3 in the South West subzone 1, and 2 in the South West subzone 2.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 38 (3.2 new cases per 100,000 population).

There are 23 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 48,792.

There is 1 new death reported in the 40-49 age group from the North West zone.

That brings the provincial total number of deaths to 579.

There are 55 people in the hospital. Forty-five people are receiving inpatient care - 1 in the Far North West zone, 6 in the North West zone, 4 in the North Central zone, 16 in the Saskatoon zone, 15 in the Regina zone, 2 in the South Central zone, and 1 in the South East zone.

There are 10 people in intensive care - 1 in the North Central zone, 6 in the Saskatoon zone, and 3 in the Regina zone.

To date, there has been 954,524 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, there were 931 COVID-19 tests processed.

No new lineage results were reported for variants of concern.

Of the 7,961 variants of concern cases with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 7,027 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 505 are Delta (B.1.617.2), 419 are Gamma (P.1), and 10 are Beta (B.1.351).

An additional 2,542 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered to 1,388,330.

Of the 2,542 vaccine doses given, there were 43 administered in the South West zone.

Seventy-four percent of those over 12 have received their first vaccine does, and 62% of those over 12 are fully vaccinated.
